PROGRAMS FUNDED BY FEDERAL GRANTS

TITLE I, ​Part A
Overview:
Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended by the
Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015, is a non-competitive grant allocated to districts across the
country with the intent of improving academic programing for struggling students. Allocations
are distributed to schools at the district level based upon the percentage of students receiving
free and/or reduced lunch.

Allocation:
$255,268

Use of Funds:
   ● Professional development for teachers in reading instruction, math instruction, and
       interventions for students with lagging skills at all schools
   ● Before/After school intervention for students with lagging skills in reading and math at all
       schools
   ● Transportation home from after school intervention programs at WJJMS and BA
   ● Summer school programing to prevent “summer slide”
   ● Two paraprofessionals to support intervention programming for students with lagging
       skills at JJIS and WJJMS
   ● Leveled texts, reading sets, and digital subscriptions
   ● Supplies to support intervention programs at all schools

TITLE II, ​Part A
Overview:
Title II, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended by the
Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 is a non-competitive grant allocated to districts across the
country with the intent of supporting the professional learning of faculty and administration.

Allocation:
$49,297

Use of Funds:
   ● Professional development for instructional coaches, teacher leaders, and teachers new
       to district
   ● Paid time for new curriculum unit development
   ● Scholarly books on instructional strategies for faculty book clubs
   ● Professional development for integrating instructional technology
TITLE IV, Part A, Student Support and Academic Enrichment
Overview:
Title IV is a non-competitive Title IV, Part A, SSAE grant has been allocated to districts across
the country with the intent of improving students’ academic achievement by increasing the
capacity of local communities to:
a) provide all students with access to a well-rounded education;
b) improve school conditions for student learning; and
c) improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital
literacy of all students.

Allocation:
$15,617

Use of Funds:
   ● Professional development for integrating instructional technology
   ● STEAM Programing for Half-Day Hooray/Early Release Days
   ● Individual/group counseling for at-risk students
   ● Mindfulness recess program for CES students
