Subject: APPRECIATION
Since March 2020, our cafeteria staff have been working non stop. Cooking and providing meals
throughout the worst of the pandemic. When the schools closed and most of us were working
from home, our cafeteria workers came to work, prepared meals and created an outdoor drive
thru to deliver these meals. Sometimes they have to home deliver some of these meals.
They provided these services even on their typical time off, the Summer months. I would like to
take this opportunity to personally thank them. The pride in their work and commitment to the
wellbeing of our students was evident throughout this difficult time. Added duties, change in
work shifts and continued requests to do more were met with promptness and professionalism.
The leadership of our Cafeteria Managers was evident throughout. From doing the research on
how to safely do in classroom meals to the very day challenges of actually doing it. I know that in
a caring town like Colchester, these actions don’t go unnoticed, but in a year like this, the
cafeteria staff should be especially recognized for their hard work and commitment to our school
district.
Please let me know if we can present this letter at the BOE meeting. I would like to inform the
Cateria Managers, perhaps they would like to attend.
