Re: Disposal of old Social Studies books

This memo is a request for approval to dispose of many old textbooks and other books in the Social
Studies department. The book closet for this department hasn’t been weeded through or cleaned in
many, many years. We took time this summer to identify what books we no longer use, are antiquated,
or do not align with the teaching practices or curriculum currently in place at Bacon Academy. Thank
you for allowing us to dispose of these old books, which will free up storage space for books that offer
more current and diverse views of history. Once approved, we will search for a company that can recycle

the books appropriately. Vhe list of books we would like to dispose of include:
