Dear Superintendent Burt,

Please accept this letter as formal notification that | intend to retire from my position at William J.
Johnston Middle School--Beta team English teacher-- at the end of the school year, 2021-2022.

My tenure in this school district spans more than 25 years, several of them as a substitute
(guest) teacher, which in turn led me to a “calling” of sorts, and back to college for teacher
certification. Soon after completing the course work, Colchester hired me for an English position
at William J. Johnston Middle School. It was here that | served my entire teaching career with
one team, in one role, teaching reading and writing to sixth graders. It has been a pleasure, and
more importantly a privilege, to have served in this role. Working here in this building, with
Colchester students, dedicated faculty, and supportive administration, has provided me with a
rich career experience, and for that, | am grateful.

If there is anything more you need from me in order to qualify for retirement, please let me
know.

Sincerely,

Heeae,

herine A. Jesmonth
