Dear Mrs. O’Meara,
| am writing today to inform you of my resignation from the Colchester School District effective
January 1, 2022. | have been employed by the Colchester Board of Education since September
of 2014 and have greatly enjoyed working with our students, families and staff as School Social
Worker. While employed, | have been able to engage in a number of opportunities, from
serving primarily as the social worker at Colchester Elementary School to working for brief
periods at JJIS and the Alternative Education Program, and to working district-wide with
students K-12 in our Extended School Year Program. | hope my work within our district has
resulted in improved outcomes for the children we serve, as | know that my own learning and
skills have benefited from the training and experiences | have encountered in Colchester.
Though this has not been an easy decision to make, | have accepted a position as a School
Resource Center Clinician in the Glastonbury School District, working at the Gideon Welles
School. My hope is to begin that position on January 3, 2022. | am excited for the professional
growth and challenge this position will bring. As | prepare to move on, | am more than willing
to assist in the recruitment and training of my replacement, and provide consultation in the
upcoming weeks, to ensure a smooth transition for my students and my colleagues in our
school.
To you personally, | am forever grateful for your leadership, guidance and support during the
time we have worked together. | have learned so much from you and have appreciated our
collaboration as colleagues. | will look back on my time in Colchester favorably and as having
worked with the most talented and dedicated professionals and educators.
Sincerely,
