From the Desk of the Superintendent...
At the close of Teacher Appreciation Week, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge
the teachers of Colchester Public Schools for their outstanding response in facing an
unprecedented challenge this year. Teachers rose to the task with passion, caring, and
commitment. I am continually grateful for their flexibility and professionalism as we enter a
more hopeful phase of the ongoing pandemic. Teachers are the very heart of our District, and I
am proud to work alongside such a dedicated group of individuals.
Navigating an ever-changing pandemic required everyone in the District to rise to the challenge.
Paraprofessionals support both students and teachers, providing routine and stability that makes
all the difference. Administrative and Office Professionals in schools, Central Office, and Pupil
Services gracefully keep absolutely everything in the District virtually running for
administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and students. The benefits we all reap from this talented
group are immeasurable. Our Food Services staff expanded their roles to serve students
throughout our community during the past year. Their unwavering commitment to meet the
needs of students is the true meaning of community. Our Information Technology department
quickly mobilized and secured technology access for both students and staff. The Facilities
department, along with custodians, disinfected our buildings and employed a wealth of safety
protocols to help us follow all safety protocols.
The Nursing staff took care of students and staff this year like never before. We know healthy
students are better learners, and nurses made our learning environments healthier and safer for
all. Our Finance and Human Resources staff keep the hiring process and the business of the
District running smoothly. Principals, Assistant Principals, and District Directors are the
educational leaders who are committed to ensuring the success of students and staff alike. Our
Principals foster environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
They lay the foundation for teachers and staff to do their very best work.
I am proud to lead these consummate, caring professionals who go above and beyond every
single day.
