Haunted Halls Proposal
The Bacon Academy Drama Club would like to run an event called “Haunted Halls” on October
7th from 6pm until 8pm. Set up would need to begin at 3 pm and break down would take until 9pm. This
would be a haunted house held in the halls of Bacon. I would like this event to take place on the first floor
of the school. The public would enter through the doors near the auditorium, pay for admission, and then
go down the stairs and enter into the “haunted house” which would start in the long hallway connecting
the gym to the academic wing. The haunted house would then go down by the Family Consumer Science
rooms, wrap around through the science halls, and then up past the art room. If additional hallways were
needed (depending on how many clubs would like to become involved) the tech wing would also be
needed. I would like to use the LMC as a “base” for all clubs to place their belongings and store
additional decorations. This space would be needed from 3pm until 9 pm. I want to include multiple
clubs in this event, with each setting up their own haunted hallways. I would also make an announcement
to the school to offer students not involved in clubs an opportunity to volunteer. Price of admission would
be $5 and there would also be a bake sale to raise money. From 6pm- 7 pm would be recommended for
children 10 and under and would be a more child-like environment (less scary haunted house and more
friendly). I have not yet heard back from other clubs who would be involved but the Drama Club would
still be interested in holding the event on their own. I have already been contacted by staff members who
would like to volunteer at this event to help facilitate operations. I want this to be an opportunity to
engage the Colchester community with the Bacon community and improve our school climate.
