Days attended as a share of days enrolled, averaged over the town's resident students, —. The two measures move together but are not the same: attendance rate averages every student's days, while chronic absence counts how many students crossed the 10% line.

Every town with a published figure, ranked on chronic absence, with the attendance rate and its rank beside it and the school types each figure rests on.
Chronic absence = resident students absent 10% or more of their enrolled days ÷ resident students enrolled, as the state publishes it for each town and school type. Attendance rate = days attended ÷ days enrolled, averaged over resident students. The state publishes no single all-types figure per town, so this page computes one: the mean of the published school-type figures, weighted by each type's resident enrollment, and lists the types behind every figure.
